The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federal program that offers nutritious meals and snacks to eligible children and adults at child care centers, daycare homes, adult daycare centers, after-school programs and emergency shelters. The CACFP allows children to develop and grow with a focus on health and wellness.
Each year, this program helps millions of children and adults access healthy meals and quality care in their communities.
Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank sponsors meals and snacks through CACFP for after school programs. This program served more than 74,000 meals across 25 program sites in Allegheny County during the 2022-23 school year.
