Resources Beyond Food

It takes more than food to fight hunger. Issues such as employment, health, housing/utilities and transportation are just as important. Sort by Resource Type and/or County below to find the life stabilization resources that can best help you.

These services include –  

Information and Assistance: Provides advice and targeted referrals to needed services and supports. 

Homeless Services Assessment, Diversion, and Coordination: Assists people experiencing homelessness or housing instability and/or their advocates to access needed services such as emergency shelter, rental assistance, and screen for longer-term homeless housing programs using the Allegheny Housing Assessment tool. 

Eligibility Screening: Screens people for any and all programs and services that they are eligible for. 

Person-Centered Counseling: Helps people who are over the age of 60 or living with a disability to address long-term living needs based on their values and preferences. 

Application Assistance: Assists people in completion of any paperwork necessary to apply for needed programs and services when appropriate. 

Home Visiting Program Referrals: Helps parents and caregivers to access home visiting programs to provide support during pregnancy or with young children. These programs are free and open to all families in Allegheny County.
