To establish eligibility based on the income of the individual children; sites must either collect household applications or receive verification of eligibility for each child from the school s/he attends. At least 50 percent of the enrolled children at the site must be eligible for free or reduced-price school meals.

We are still waiting on guidance from USDA about whether COVID-19 waivers for meal service flexibilities will be extended through this summer. If they are extended, we will have several options available to sites to take advantage of these options. Each site must choose one option only.
For Grab 'n Go and home delivery service, sites may have the option to bundle the service of two meals (and possibly three in some instances) for each day and up to two days worth of meals at a time.
Last summer, we started to include regular peanut butter in a couple of our cold lunch menu options, which kids seemed to like. We provide all sites with nut-free shelf-stable meals that can be used if a child with a nut allergy is on site.
