On Monday, July 27 we launched our Food Justice is Social Justice campaign. The goal of this initiative is to create awareness about social inequality, while educating the Food Bank’s service area of numerous organizations in the region that are focused on ending racism and creating equality for all. The collaborative effort of the Food Bank and these organizations will be focused on all digital platforms.

Today, we welcome the Black Political Empowerment Project (B-PEP). B-PEP’s mission is to ensure that the Pittsburgh African-American community votes in EACH and EVERY election. B-PEP relies on the dedication of agencies, organizations, religious leaders and committed individuals who donate incredible amounts of hours to uplift our communities and provide a sense of purpose.
I am delighted to stand alongside Tim Stevens and the entire B-PEP organization. Tim’s voice has been a prominent one for many years in the efforts to end racial inequality in our region.
