The Food Bank and Just Harvest have chosen to postpone this Sunday’s Empty Bowls Dinner at Rodef Shalom. This decision was made due to the growing concerns surrounding the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). In light of the ongoing public health concern, after consulting with Rodef Shalom, out of an abundance of caution we’ve decided to take preventative measures to avoid mass gatherings and observe social distancing. Both organizations will monitor the status of COVID-19 in southwestern Pennsylvania and decide on a date to reschedule Empty Bowls once the virus does not pose a threat to our community. Tickets already purchased for Empty Bowls will be honored at the rescheduled event.

The annual Empty Bowls dinner in Pittsburgh serves up a meal of soup and bread as a reminder that too many people throughout our region are facing hunger. This year’s 25th Anniversary event –benefiting the organizations Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and Just Harvest — will feature artisan pottery for guests to take home, soups from restaurants across the City of Pittsburgh, and an auction featuring local artwork.

This year’s seating sessions are:
1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
