Announcing Our New Look!

Posted on July 1, 2021 by Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank

Today, we are thrilled to share that Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank is embarking on a new brand strategy that elevates our organization’s identity to better represent the entirety of our overall mission and service area.

The pandemic highlighted the incredible need for food assistance, not only in southwestern Pennsylvania, but across the country. We also know food is just one area of need for so many people and our organization is taking the necessary steps to address this.

The new brand identity includes a new logo that symbolizes the Food Bank’s expanded focus on overall life stabilization and efforts to provide fresh, healthy produce to our community. Additionally, our new tagline ‘serving the Three Rivers region,’ better reflects the full reach of the Food Bank’s 11-county service area.

While our look has changed, most importantly our commitment remains the same. This new branding calls out our desire to address the root causes of food insecurity, with food still being the core of our work.

We are taking a holistic approach to food insecurity by increasing ways to provide food assistance to people and expand our reach to ensure that we’re offering the best service possible to our neighbors in need.

As a part of that work, we created a new life stabilization department in July 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. This team is working to expand our partnerships to reach all communities and sectors enabling us to make the greatest impact.

Additionally, at the completion of our building expansion project, we will have more space available to distribute the fresh, nutritious foods that we know people want and need. Our new facility will also have a food pantry on-site enabling us to increase our program offerings to the community.

The support we’ve received from southwestern Pennsylvania has always been incredible, but over the past year and a half, the love that has been shown for our neighbors struggling to keep enough food on their tables is nothing less than inspiring. Thank you for your continued support of our neighbors living with hunger. As we enter this new chapter of our organization’s history I know that all of us will continue to support one another until everyone has enough food for today, tomorrow and a lifetime.
