Gifts that Give Back

Posted on November 27, 2022 by Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank

During the holiday season, we are reminded of just how important it is to support our neighbors in need. ‘Happy Holidays’ is often taken for granted and isn’t always guaranteed for the one in seven individuals facing hunger in our region. That is why we are proud to partner with companies who have developed creative methods to give back to our community.

Here are some fun and creative ways that you can give back this holiday season:

Amazon Smile – Amazon Smile makes it easy to shop for holiday gifts, while supporting the Food Bank’s mission. Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases when individuals shop online via the Amazon Smile portal.

Whole Foods Shop Local Give Local – Shoppers at Whole Foods will have the option of donating two different ways: donating at the register or buying local products which will be matched 100% by Whole Foods.

Barefoot Wine – This Holiday season, Barefoot wine is providing 2 million meals to support families in need. Customers can contribute by making a donation online.

American Eagle – Throughout the holiday season, meal donations will be made for every Rewards Purchase, AE credit card purchase, and every online purchase.

Giant Eagle – Help area food banks provide fresh, healthy meals to our local communities. All you have to do is donate at any Giant Eagle, Market District or GetGo location when you checkout in store, at the pump or on the app!

More information about companies that support the Food Bank during the holiday season, and year round can be found on our Shop Our Partners page.

We encourage you to check out some of these great fundraising programs that make giving this holiday season easy and fun. You won’t find any present this holiday season that is as valuable as the gift of giving!
