If we are to end hunger, more people, companies, groups, and governmental representatives must decide to get involved. Think one person can't make a difference? You'd be mistaken. Every day at the Food Bank, and out in the community, people who believe hunger must end are gathering food and funds, volunteering a few hours of their time, attending special events and fundraisers, and working together to change public policy. Every person can help in one way or another – every bit counts - so please help now!

Every year the Food Bank relies on thousands of volunteers to work special events, sort food at our warehouse, harvest vegetables at a farm, or serve on a committee. Learn more about how to get involved.
Organize a Food Drive
The Food Bank distributes about 1.7 million pounds of food every month, so we need all the help we can get gathering it. If you are interested in hosting a food drive, email the Food Drive Coordinator or call (412) 460-3663, ext 209, and she will help you make all the arrangements. Look for additional information, including downloadable literature, on our Food Drive page.
The Food Bank always appreciates donations of food and other grocery items. You can find information about most-needed items and drop off locations on the Donate Food page.
Did you know that one in seven children living in Allegheny County does not get enough to eat? Did you know that the Food Bank serves more than 120,000 people throughout southwestern PA? When you find out the facts, you’ll want to help end hunger! Visit our About Hunger page to learn more about the issue of hunger, or better yet, email the Speakers Bureau to invite someone from the Food Bank to speak to your organization, group or class - or call (412) 460-3663, ext 217.
Help Us Change The Future
Ending hunger in this nation is absolutely possible! We have nutrition programs already in place, like SNAP (Food Stamps) and School Lunch programs. But we need to make these proven programs available to ALL those who need them. We need to work together to change public policy, to convince politicians that hunger in America is a disgrace that must end. You can add your voice to the voices of change for the better. Learn more about the Food Bank and anti-hunger advocacy.
Make A Donation
At Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, 94 cents out of every dollar donated goes directly to food and services for the hungry.
